As most of you know, last year I signed up for and ran my first Marathon with Team In Training. I started out with selfish reasons...lose stubborn baby fat, get in shape, check another item off of my list "To Do". But almost immediately after I began my training, I discovered the a deeper meaning to the adventure I had begun....Team In training is a part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This Society has been around for 20 years now. It has raised BILLIONS, of dollars to help fund the research to cure this thing called cancer. It in fact has been the primary funding source behind a drug called Glevac that is keeping SO many cancer patients alive right now. Another fact about The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society it that 75% of the funds raised by Team In Training participants, (leaving only 25% to pay for the rest of running a HUGE non-profit) goes directly back to the mission...which is to "Cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's Disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families" Now that is alot of money...75% of do the math!

Being a part of the Team, you have an "Honoree" assigned to your small group. This is someone who is a cancer survivor or is currently undergoing treatment. They are there to tell their story, to encourage you, and be a part of your training...when I was running my longest runs, in pain from my toes to my hip and more, I just remembered that it was NOTHING compared to what a cancer patient is going through. At the end of my training, and since our Team has lost 2 of our honorees to cancer. This is why we should never stop, until there is a cure. This is why I am not only lucky enough to be a permanent part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as a staff member, but I once again signed up to complete an event and raise funds for this cause.

So maybe if you are reading this, maybe you too have been touched by cancer...I know my life has. Maybe you want to be part of the cure too. So, I say..maybe join the Team yourself. Maybe accomplish personal goals. Maybe lose a couple of pounds. Maybe make friends for life with Team mates. But Maybe, just maybe, maybe...raise that $1, or $10 that finds the cure for cancer. Or if you don't have time to do it yourself...up there at the left hand side of my page is a link to my fundraising page...give me a buck or two. And maybe someday, there won't be a need for an organization like Team In Training. Go ahead! Create a world where the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society isn't needed. Go ahead.

Hear comes 2008!

WOW...2008. This means, that I will soon be 36. Paul will be 42 (Oh my!) Mia will be 5 (Bigger Oh my!) Sarah will turn 3...and Emma will turn 2! I can't believe how quickly times go by, people change, and those grey hairs appear...and get covered! This year holds so many exciting's going to be fun!

We had a wonderful Christmas. We have been extremly busy this Holiday season. Nothing to write about, but we have been on the go...going to Grandma's house, to the mall to last minute shopping, going to Tea, opening presents, playing with new toys and more!...if I could get my computer and camera to sync I would have proof of all we have been doing.

The biggest change of all has been the BIG SWITCH! Mia and Sarah are now in "unbunked" beds, and Emma is in her own room in the crib...amazing what 10 feet down the hall can do for sleeping habits! And what having a big sister in the same room can do for a 2 1/2 year old...after 4 years...I can finally say, I have slept....okay, maybe not all night long, but better. Those black circles under my eyes are beginning to fade.
So...once I get this camera thing figured out...maybe a new computer thing figured out (hint hint Paul) I will be able to post some pictures from our recent adventures!

Halloween Pictures..playing catch up!

I am finally getting around to posting some pictures...I lost my camera for about a here is what I found on it! So we had Minnie, a kitty and belle...
We don't trick-or-treat, so we headed across the street to a harvest festival a local church puts on. They have carnival games and prizes for the kids...they girls had a blast!

Emma's First Birthday..what a difference a year makes!

I have finally downloaded pictures from Emma's first birthday..we shared the party with my girlfriends daughter who was born the day before Emma. It was a fun party...both girls enjoyed eating cake. And Emma wore the dress that both of her sister's had on for their first birthday! I knew that $70 dress would be worth it!

This time last year she was such a little peanut...she came almost one month early..when she left the hospital she was a whopping 4 pounds 14 ounces....we were going in every couple of days to weigh her...she didn't like to pack on any pounds...still doesn't. My peanut weighed in at 16 pounds 2 ounces at a year old.
But boy is she a joy to be around! What would our lives be without her kisses, smiles and giggles? Plus the countless sleepless nights? We would be such a different family!
