Not Me Monday...

Here I go again....go to this blog to check out all of the others who are posting a "Not Me Monday" Oh wait....I did not check out her blog first...and she is on a break for the week.

I did not drive all the way to my mother's house ( 1 hour away) so that my kids could play with their cousins..

I did not leave my house in complete chaos, because I am tired of cleaning it again...and again....and again...

I did not sleep in until 9:00 am on a Monday, and let my husband do all of the morning kids stuff today.

I did not enjoy having no computer access for one entire week while our DSL was down.

I am not enjoying the fact that their isn't school for another week...

I did not let my daughter spend all of her Christmas money on American Doll clothes...

And my mother and I did not start planning a trip to Chicago this summer to take my daughter to the American Girl store...for her 6th birthday.

Not Me Monday

This is my first week at attempting "Not Me Monday" I have been reading this blog for a while now and I have always wanted to try here it goes...

During this past week, I did not buy my daughter a light up reindeer for the front of our house. And I have not forgotten to to plug it in each day since.

I did not buy 2 boxes of outdoor lights with the intention of putting them on my house and they are not still sitting in the box on my kitchen counter.

I did not pay the girl across the street .50 cents a package to wrap all of my Christmas presents, because I don't have time to do it myself.

I did not buy my own stocking stuffers for my husband to put in my stocking this year.

I did not yell at my husband for being sick knowing that he wasn't going to help clean up before his 30 relatives come over for Christmas Eve.

I did not praise God when my house cleaner called at 9pm last night to see if she could come today instead of Friday!

And right now...I did not refuse to put my daughter's American Doll shoes on her dolls feet for the third time in 3 minutes!

There you go! Happy Not Me Monday!

Typical findings in the Brooke household..

This is Emma. This is typical of her, and her clothing choices. PJ's and a pettiskirt...what style!
She actually wore the skirt all day long....and refused to take it off. This child is my "
atti "Two"ed". I have always thought is was the terrible threes, but she has been able to convince me otherwise.

Daddy's little girl..

Mia came out Sunday afternoon in some new clothes...well, new to her, not so much to Paul.

Fun memories.

I think both of her legs are in one of his...

Daddy Duty

I had to go to "Daisy"training this week to become an official Daisy leader for Mia's troop.
So I was gone from 6:00-9:00, and Paul was home with the girls.

We had made a trip to Trader Joe's earlier that day,and picked up their Advent Calendars for 99 cents. SO exciting! Each girl picked out her own, and we talked about how we will use them to count down the days until Christmas. Sarah is really working hard on learning about time, and days...(we are currently counting down the days until Thanksgiving)
They really wanted to eat the Advent Candy when we got home, but I kept explaining that we had to wait until December 1st.
Back to the story...I was gone for 3 hours, and this is what I cam home to...each calendar, opened and all 24 pieces of the candy from each little window...gone!
Question for you all.....What would you have done?

Coloring is a hard job!

Emma was at the counter coloring the other day. After a little while, it got really quiet....this is what I found. Sleeping on the job...luckily they don't get paid for this kind of work...she would have been fired! Hee Hee.

Emma turns two!

Emma turned 2 on October 24th. We had fun at the park close to our house...friends, cake, swings, pinata and all.

Above are the pictures...I made a "Topsy Turvy" cake and cupcakes, the loved the balloons, and her friends loved the candy that came flying out of the worm pinata.

Who could ask for anything more!

Family Pumpkin Patch Visit

We finally made it to the pumpkin patch. I think this is the first time Paul has gone with us. This is my first time with Emma, as my mom took them last year.

We chose a rinky dink patch on the side of the road in Santa Cruz. It didn't really matter, the gilrs had a blast.

It was fun to see the girls run from pumpkin to pumpkin trying to pick them up....some that were just TOO big for them...and bigger than Emma period.
There was a little maze for the kids to walk through, Mia was the first to check it out. Then the others followed.

After our pumpkins were picked and in the car, Paul had promised Ice Cream. So it was off to the Ice Cream shop. We have only done this a few times before, so the girls were thrilled.

After Ice Cream, we headed home to carve the pumkin. And bake the seeds. Sarah loved helping with the seeds, and watching me carve the pumpkin. Emma just played in the planter, and threw dirt.

Keeping up..

October is a very busy month in this includes pumpkin patch visits, birthdays, two events with work, harvest festivals, field trips, and more. This year it includes getting our paperwork together for our adoption etc.

I am loving the fall weather, but my head is still in summer and i can't quite figure out what to wear or how to dress my children. It is cold in the morning, but here in N. Cal. it can be 80 degrees by noon.

So, we are busy. This blog has taken a back burner. Pictures are going to be uploaded, maybe.

Mighty Mermaid

Today I did my last Triathlon of the season...the Mighty Mermaid.
My sister and I did it together so it was fun!
Distance: .5 mile swim (2x around the cement ship) 22 miles bike ride, and 5 mile run.
It was the longest triathlon I have done yet, so it was pretty challenging. Oh yeah, I hadn't kept up with my training like I did in the spring, so it was harder than I anticipated...
In fact, there were two distances, the "Mighty Mermaid" and the "Sprint" my sister and I came in dead last out of both races...but we finished. That is what counts!
Above are pictures of the ship we swam around, and "Team Cupcake" a crazy bunch of women here who do triathlons...well...I'm done with triathlons...until next spring...

County Fair...

We made it to the County was fun, I wish we had gone earlier in the day, but we did what we could.

We hit the outraegeously priced rides, fed the animals and grabbed some Kettle Corn on the way year this is a all day must do.

I just can't beleive how much fun it is, and how easy the once dreaded events are now. The girls are older and it is fun to take them on theses little adventures.

Sarah was totally enthralled by the animals..she bravely fed the horses and goats, checked out the reptiles..and threw a complete fit when we couldn't stay longer to watch the horse competitions.

Tap and Jazz..

Last year we attempted to put Mia in a dance class, it didn't quite work out as we hoped.

So this year, Sarah was able to join the same class. They have been having a blast with each other..and it is SO cute to watch them.

First Day Jitters..

Mia started Kindergarten on Sept. 2nd. It was a big day for all of us...a family event, and it has been good so far.

We are really happy with the teacher she got. Mrs Tobak is a sweet soul, who really cares about the students in her class. It is a private Christian school so she is not only learning the basics of education, but building a foundation of faith that will carry her for the rest of her life.

I can't say enough about the staff. The aide in her class just happens to be my sister's neighbor, whom we have known for 10 years. She and Mia have a great connection and I know Mrs. B will help Mia have a successful first year.

75 cent night...

During the summer the Beach Boardwalk has 75 cent night...this means that all of the rides areo only 75 cents! It is fun to go with friends, and this is the first year that we have taken the is fun to be at that point in our lives where the girls can enjoy this kind of stuff.

So we hit quite a few kids rides one night while we there with our Bible Study group...the girls had a blast!

My friend Maegan and I also went on an adventure and braved the "Fireball" can I say nasueous?

What was I thinking...I woke up the next morning still feeling the affects of the ride...
